On Black Friday I made a long overdue decision of buying myself a Clarisonic Aria though technically it’s a Christmas present from Dad that doesn’t know it yet.. There was about £60 off so I went for it as I had been umming & arghing for years. A post will follow on that in about a month or two.
I decided that I had to start using cleansers in my beauty stash that were still brand new but had to be used before it got past there best. I already have some Liz Earle cleanse & polish earmarked which I have had since last year but I also had an Elemis Pro Radiance Cleanser. I believe this is the first cream cleanser I had ever used around 10 years ago, I loved it so a made a long overdue purchase last year.
There is a very distinct smell to this product it’s not a fragrance but for the life of me I cannot put my finger on it, I guess you could say there is a unisex smell about it. The texture is a very thick cream, one pump of the cleanser is sufficient but I always go for 1 & half pumps. I tend to put it onto dry skin & massage it around. Normally I have used a hot cloth to remove but now it’s my Clarisonic.
I tend to wet my brush head before using it on my skin to get some slip to it then just work away at cleaning my pores particularly around the nose, chin & in between the brows. I have to say this time round using the product I am not really enjoying it, I feel the cream formula is too thick for my liking & there appears to be this really odd residue left on my skin even after using a cloth to remove any excess product.
I am beginning to find that my skin is feeling dry after use & really craving moisturiser which is not something I get after using other cleansers. I am sure my opinion now is purely down to the fact I have a lot of love for so many other cleansers this is just not doing it for me anymore. It’s interesting to read that the cleanser is formulated to deeply moisturise dehydrated skin which is something I deal with but maybe for me personally it’s just not for me anymore. My skin is definitely verging more on the side of normal now with dehydration whereas in my 20’s it was combination with an oily t-zone so maybe that what it is coming down to now my skin is changing & the results won’t be the same as they were.
Of course I have nothing bad to say about the cleanser in general I would encourage others to try it as it may be for you but I will try my best to power through using so it doesn’t go to waste it will just sadly not be a repurchase again for me.
I hope you liked the post guys, much love xx
