Oh my what a box! I have never ordered a beauty box from Latest in Beauty before but I got drawn in from the latest copy of Glamour Magazine advertising their new box & to be honest it was too much of a bargain to pass up on. It did take what felt like an age to arrive (nearly 2 weeks) but personally I feel this was well worth the wait.
Firstly I really like the packaging, I am always sold on gorgeous packaging, but this box really does look glamorous to me with the gold lettering & edging, you can really tell they have made a great effort with this box. The tissue paper inside is very pretty too with all the gold flakes.
Now onto the contents..
I really feel there is a brilliant array of products here, there are 7 items in total & the value is exceptional. At the back left is the Philip Kingsley dry shampoo which I cannot wait to try, I have never used a dry shampoo before as I tend to wash my hair daily but ideally I would like to get out of that habit so for me this is a great product to have in the box. I did try a dry conditioner from another brand today & my hair looks disgusting so I hope the shampoo is better!
Right at the back in the middle is the foxy HD brows palette & I am so chuffed to have got this baby at last, I have been wanting to try this for about 3 years but decided to wait until it was in a beauty box to make it a real bargain. I have been trying over the last 18 months to get my eyebrows in a much better shape & I first went for a HD brow in a salon in May last year & it looked great though when I tried to recreate it with another brow powder it looked interesting to say the least! I have been trying to fill in my brows more professionally & have a handful of products to choose from but now I am keen to see how the HD palette fairs up to a couple of really great brow pencils I have & really love.
To the back left as you can see is the eyeko lash curler, I already have one of these which is currently sat unused as I am using a Models Own curler at the moment but its always good to have a spare so will tuck this away in my make up drawers for a later date.
Next to the curlers is a 10ml Balance Me Radiance Face Oil which is perfect for this time of year to add into your current skin care routine, at times we all need that extra moisture in our skin. In general I swap & change between a serum or a face oil but this particular product I will be passing onto my mum as I have been trying to encourage her recently to really start looking after her skin & developing a great skincare routine. Considering the 30ml size is priced at £30 to receive a mini version in the box is just incredible value. Below is an extract I have pulled off the Balance Me website about the product;
“Balance Me Radiance Face Oil is a highly emollient yet super-absorbent, 100% natural face oil with Amazonian buruti, moringa and camellia oils that work together with soothing Roman chamomile, yarrow and benzoin to enhance the radiance of skin of all ages and types.
Don’t be afraid to use Balance Me face oil if your skin is prone to congestion as oil on oil is extremely balancing, hydrating and comfortable to wear. Oil is a great way to combat congested skin.”
Then of course we have the Benefit They’re Real mascara :-) Now I have to admit it took me a very long time to get on board with this mascara & I received a mini size a few months ago as part of a kit I purchased & thought I would give it a whirl & I have to say I am impressed. I own a lot of mascaras & I would definitely put this at no 2 on my list, I personally don’t feel the look is suited to a daytime make up but that’s just my opinion this is probably something I would wear more of an evening out as it makes your lashes really stand out & just say wow. As this is a product I have already tried & liked it is something I would recommend to my friends & family, the price point is a little steep but if you want quality you have to pay that little bit more for it.
Next in the box is the Maybelline baby lips which again took me a while to get on board with, I try not to follow the trend / hype but after seeing so many bloggers writing about these I just had the urge that I needed them so I purchased the 3 that are slightly coloured so I was really pleased to receive the hydrating balm in the box, not that it would have mattered if I had got a duplicate as you can never have enough lip products in my opinion. To receive the hydrating version is perfect for this time of year & was probably something the Glamour team had already taken into consideration, it is claimed the hydrating formula lasts for 8 hours so I am looking forward to putting this to the test & it also has an SPF of 20 which is brilliant because I never consider protecting my lips it is not something that naturally comes to mind but now I won’t need to think about it as the protection will already be there.
Lastly is the Toni & Guy firm hold hairspray. I don’t tend to use an awful lot of hairspray however it is handy to have a mini can to reach for in those moments when I do decide to pin my hair back & need to spray it in place so I am quite excited about trying this product & putting it to the test.
Let me know what you think of the box, have you purchased one for yourself? Or do you use some of these products already? The box is available here Glamour. for the fabulous price of £14.95 + postage with the contents being quoted as worth £65. Maybe this would make a really cute present or stocking fillers for people or just as a yummy treat to yourself.
I am very impressed with this box & will look out for any more boxes that Glamour release in the future x
